Would you like a 100% waterproof deck that will stand up to Calgary’s rainy weather? Do you want to keep the space dry below your deck? Vinyl decking is the choice for you. Vinyl decks provide the advantage of being waterproof and will protect your subfloor and joists from the rot and deterioration that Alberta’s climate can cause.
How long will vinyl decking last?
Your Perma Deck vinyl should last between 15–20 years, depending upon the application, exposure to the environment, and care of your deck.
Does Perma Deck use an approved roofing membrane?
Yes. All Perma Deck products meet and exceed national building code guidelines.
What slope should I build my deck to accommodate the waterproof vinyl decking?
Perma Deck recommends 3/16" per foot. To calculate the slope required for proper water drainage off the deck, simply multiply the distance from the house edge by 1.875.
Do I need a permit for my deck project?
You should consult with the municipality in which the work is taking place. The common rule is, if your deck is over two feet above ground, it likely requires a permit.
Can I install vinyl decking myself?
No. It should be installed by a professionally-trained installer experienced in waterproofing techniques and building code regulations. Experts like the technicians at Perma Deck will ensure you are getting a quality waterproof seal. We offer a long-term warranty due to the experience and skill of our staff.
How often should I clean my deck?
Perma Deck recommends cleaning your deck approximately four times per year. Cleaning requirements vary based on factors such as location and exposure to elements, location of foliage, animals, and usage.
Advantages of Our Vinyl Decking
Keeping moisture from entering the wood surfaces prevents rot.
Vinyl is waterproof, so pressure-treated lumber is not required and the deck will last 15–20 years without needing to be replaced.
Decks and balconies get their fair share of traffic. Vinyl will wear extremely well and will not peel, chip, or crack.
Unlike wood decks, vinyl eliminates the need to paint or stain each year.
Cooler to Touch
Vinyl is made for walking on with bare feet. Even under direct sunlight, the textured surface and reflected colour pattern will stay slightly warmer than the air temperature.
Vinyl has proven itself. The average life expectancy of vinyl is over 15 years.
Vinyl's low-maintenance quality eliminates the need for harsh cleaning chemicals.
